About Me

Welcome to Spring in Your Step! 🌸

Here I share time-honored recipes passed down through family kitchens that comfort, nourish, and connect us to our roots and bring joy to the present.

I started this blog as a way to organize my recipes scribbled away diligently in an old diary over the past 30 years, out of a greed to make them immortal! I always believe that a person and/or a place become everlasting memories through the food they offered with thought and care.

For me, cooking traditional food is not just about taste—it’s honoring the age-old rituals of preparation, curing and preservation, perpetuating heritage, celebrating the seasons, and rejoicing in the familiar.

Here you’ll find recipes that are:

  • Tried and tested in the kitchens of my senior family members (pics 🙏) and my own
  • Rooted in tradition, but easy enough to cook at home

I hope these recipes resonate with you, each recipe is a little reminder that culture, like good food, can give us strength and put a spring in our step.

The masters 🙏
