
Ingredients:
- Chikkudukaya (Broad beans ) – 1/4kg (cleaned and torn or cut into 1 inch pieces)
- Tomatoes medium – 3
- Onion medium – 2
- Green chillies – 3
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves
- Turmeric
- Salt to taste
- Oil
Seasoning:
- Chana dal 1spn
- Garlic cloves 6
- Cumin seeds 1/2spn
- Mustard seeds 1/2spn
Method:
- Heat oil in a pressure pan, add garlic and after a minute other seasoning ingredients and saute till golden.
- Add chopped onion, slit green chilli and curry leaves and saute till onions are transparent.
- Add chopped tomato, also turmeric and salt. Saute till tomato turns soft.
- Add chikkudikaya pieces and also chilli powder, mix well.
- Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
- Now add a cup of water and close with cooker lid and let it cook for 2 whistles.
- Cook on low flame till moisture is absorbed.
- Enjoy with hot rice.
